There is an Income Tax rebate on investment in open end mutual funds. You can avail the tax credit if you retain the investment for one year. Section 62 of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001 provides a tax rebate at the average rate of tax on investment in new units to the extent of 10% of taxable income OR Rs.300,000 OR the amount of investment, whichever is lower.
